With several scholarship deadlines looming, Harness Horse Youth Foundation hopes to make the search process for potential applicants easier. Included here are the scholarships offered by HHYF of course but also other racing related and/or industry sponsored ones!
Harold & Marcia Snyder Memorial

Deadline: June 1
Eligibility: Applicant must be personally involved in the harness racing industry or have a relative involved. Applicant may or may not be pursuing a career in the harness racing industry. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.
Curt Greene Memorial

Deadline: June 1
Eligibility: Applicant must have a keen interest in harness racing. Graduate students are not eligible.
Sweet Karen Memorial

Eligibility: Applicant must have completed a Harness Horse Youth Foundation summer program from 1999 to present.
Lynn Fortna Financial Assistance

Deadline: June 1 & December 1
Eligibility: Applicant must be a young-at-heart female in harness racing who wants to continue her education and/or expand her knowledge of horses.

The grass is green so that means the Harness Horse Youth Foundation is in full preparation mode for our summer travels! In fact, we just got back from our first event of the year, the Indiana Equine Roundup! Our travel team of Grady, Vicky, Lily, and of course, Missy did a fantastic job of promoting harness racing and HHYF with demonstrations, interactive games as well as staffing the booth full of information!
Here is the 2025 HHYF schedule. Events requiring pre registration are in BOLD. If you know a horse crazy child 11 or older, please consider registering him or her soon! As a reminder, if a young person has attended a HHYF event in the past, he/she may then attend Leadership and repeat attendees are welcome too.
